On a remote part of the West Coast of Vancouver Island, there are giant stands of ancient hemlock, spruce, cedar and douglas fir. These forests have stood for hundreds of years, providing habitat for a complex ecosystem. Here along the Clayoquot arm of Kennedy Lake, the forest is pristine and untouched, a last stronghold of the ancient forests. Many of the surrounding forests have already been destroyed by clear-cut logging.

I've spent most of my life seeking out these powerful remote places, in some strange way they fill my life with joy purpose and meaning. Printing this image as wall art has brought the power of that place right into my home.

Its hard to really grasp the size of a forest until you see it from above.
