On a remote part of the West Coast of Vancouver Island, there are giant stands of ancient hemlock, spruce, cedar and douglas fir. These forests have stood for hundreds of years, providing habitat for a complex ecosystem. Here along the Clayoquot arm of Kennedy Lake, the forest is pristine and untouched, a last stronghold of the ancient forests. Many of the surrounding forests have already been destroyed by clear-cut logging.
I've spent most of my life seeking out these powerful remote places, in some strange way they fill my life with joy purpose and meaning. Printing this image as wall art has brought the power of that place right into my home.
Its hard to really grasp the size of a forest until you see it from above.
Welcome to my shop! My name is Marty Mellway, I'm a wildlife, landscape and lifestyle photographer based on the west coast of Vancouver Island, Canada. All of my products are printed on very high-quality material, most of what you will find on the internet, Etsy included, is very low quality. I know everyone gives that same guarantee of quality but I am really proud of the photography that I have captured and I want to be sure that it looks amazing on your wall and lasts for decades.
